Benjamin Franklin once said that happiness consists more in small conveniences or pleasures that occur everyday, than in great pieces of good fortune that only seldom happen to a man (or woman) in the course of his life. I may often look as if I don't like this little bit of space and time that I've been given, but the truth is I do. Someone always makes sure I do.

Instructions:

-List ten things that bring you moments of joy.
-Tag five people.

1) A warm mug of milk waiting for me every morning, courtesy of my dad.
2) Lunch with my parents on Sundays.
3) Waking up to the sun's warm rays on my skin and the tweetering of birds from outside my window.
4) Stepping out the house and taking in the crisp morning air of December.
5) Looking up at the sky on a clear night and seeing hundreds of stars.
6) When my room turns into a rosy hue during the afternoon.
7) Dancing for the sheer joy of it.
8) Finding friends long unheard of.
9) The quiet between breaths when I'm with ho e.
10) Learning something new.

It used to be that I didn't understand how one can stay happy amidst all the problems he encounters each day. Now I see that it is all just a matter of choice.

I feel a little sorry for my boss. I may have been too impudent. He probably thought I'm a nightmare to be with when I'm exploited and angry. So I'll probbaly need to find another job come November.

To all you bird-lovers, the Malagos Garden in Davao is back in Quezon City for their Amazing Bird Show. We saw it last January, and by "amazing" they really mean amazing. I expect the tickets to be priced from P230-P300, but it'd be well to bring extra cash since they can take your picture with the lovely parrots for a fee. Oh, before I forget, the show is at Parks and Wildlife.

I've forgotten my poetry

Posted by guia at 07:21 AM on November 1, 2005.

I am heroic couplets; most precise
And fond of order. Planned and structured. Nice.
I know, of course, just what I want; I know,
As well, what I will do to make it so.
This doesn't mean that I attempt to shun
Excitement, entertainment, pleasure, fun;
But they must keep their place, like all the rest;
They might be good, but ordered life is best.
