A researcher?

Your Dominant Intelligence is Intrapersonal Intelligence

Reflective and thoughtful, you enjoy spending time alone.
You are good at analyzing yourself - and knowing your true feelings.
Totally self aware, you are in tune with your dreams and desires.
A spiritual and philopsophical person, your inner calmness inspires and helps others.

You would make a great philosopher, researcher, or theorist.

--------

Almost a year has passed by since I graduated and yet I still have nothing to show for my supposed newfound independence. No savings, no stable job, not even a portfolio I can be proud of. Graduating kind of puts you on hold, since there is no more institution that tells you what to do. You're on your own and most of the time, at the beginning I'd like to think, you have no idea where to go and what to do with your time.

On one hand it's nice to be able to do all the things you weren't able to when you were still in college, you can enroll in enrichment classes, dabble in handicrafts, learn how to cook, etcera. But finishing an undergraduate course not only earns you a degree, but also makes you fair game for the scrutiny of your friends' parents. Some are polite enough to merely suggest paths for you to take, however you can't help but think that at some level you're already being assessed by your current employment.

Sometimes you just want to push the desires of your heart aside and please those people. How hard can it be? You just have to quiet the voices that cry "injustice" inside you and walk the path that has been paved for you long before you graduated. How hard can it be to put your life on hold all over again to tread the clearer, more familiar paths?

Give me a pairing (from an anime/game): Laichi and Prince Kirin (Ranma movie 1)
Tell me your favorite color: yellow
Give me a verb: confess
Name a scent: peppermint

Thanks. :D

Their reply was:

Subject: 307 words, although it turned out to be more semi-romance than Friendship. ^^;

Her cornsilk yellow hair ruffled in the breeze as they watched the skyship depart. Laichi stood next to her Prince, hugging one of his arms to her. She had managed to convince him to let the ship take those odd people back without him, after all, she didn't know for certain that that Akane girl wouldn't try to get their hands on her Prince again. She'd gone through too much to let someone else win when she finally had what she wanted.

They stood on one of the rocky outcroppings near the devastated remains of the Prince's castle. After generations, her family's dreams had finally come to pass. Well, not her entire family. After all, her mother and her grandmother before her had given up on the Prince promised by the scroll long before, but not her... and now that persistence had paid off.

She snuggled into his arm and her face brightened as an indulgent smile played upon her Prince's lips. After the exertions of his earlier combat he still smelt faintly of clean sweat and oddly of peppermint.

"Shall we return to the palace, my bride? Kirin wishes to rest after this trying day." He spoke to her.

"But Laichii thought castle destroyed in fight?" She pointed to the rubble, which despite the steam carried the faint smell of the pickles that formed the basis of their entire diet.

"This is but one of Kirin's many castles," he replied with a grin.

So rich. So handsome. This was everything she had dreamed of. She kept the smile on her face as he led her down the path where his retainers awaited and resolved that she had to keep her one secret to herself. After all, this was what she wanted... there was no way that she would ever confess to him that she hated pickles.

You gave credit where you thought it's due, but it turned out they didn't deserve it.

Some people's stupidity and selfishness know no bounds.

Men are weak
They are worse than babies
With their limbs longer and
Stouter than yours
They leave them idle but for
Holding on to you
Their blanket, their rag,
Their trophy.

With all their muscle and brawn
They can't express any emotion
Without bursting
Or dying.
They are vain creatures
With little hearts that
Are three-quarters filled
With themselves,
Delighting in frivolity and leaving you
With stains and an empty purse.

You get filthy for them
And they don't notice
Your anger
Thinking it can be placated
With trinkets and plants.
When they smile they smile
At themselves
For a job well done,
They have had fun again
Their egos well-fed
And masculinity reassured.

Men do not compose the foundation of houses,
At best they are fools
Who make children laugh at a fair
By wearing their clothes
Backwards.
They light up your life for a moment
And once you are blinded they rob you.

When admonished they cry and try
To draw pity from your worn heart,
Promise you galaxies and lives in
Bliss.
But those are mere words
They do not know the weight of a promise
They do not see a world beyond the present
Their minds can not assess the future
Their heads are empty
Save for images of themselves.

Only 4 chocolate fudge brownies from Mrs. Fields or 6 cookies from a specific stall in PWU could cheer me up. A nice ice cream cake would do nicely too. But since none of them are within my reach right now a little quiz would have to do... until I cajole someone into giving me sweets later this afternoon.

So 80s (this post is one day late)

I never paid much attention to the songs I grew up with before. But I heard this one earlier and it brought back memories from when I was a child and often imagined I was in a music video, so I decided to post it.

All This Time by Tiffany

Album: Greatest Hits

All this time
I knew someday you´d need to find
Something that you left behind
Something I can´t give you

All these tears
i know someday love disappears
But hearts are good for souvenirs
And memories are forever

All this time
on and on
I´ve no regrets
The sun still shines the sun still sets
The heart forgives the heart forgets
But what will I do now with all this time

One more kiss
Even though it´s gone to this
I´ll close my eyes and make a wish
Hoping you remember

All this time
On and on I´ve no regrets
The sun still shines the sun still sets
The heart forgives the heart forgets
But what will I do now with all this time

Say goodbye
Apart we´ll make another try
So don't be sorry if you cry
I´ll be crying too
on this day

All this time
on and on I´ve no regrets
The sun still shines the sun still sets
The heart forgives the heart forgets
what will I do now with all this time

From the last game I played this year

Posted by guia at 12:56 PM on December 31, 2004.

Sung to the tune of Summer Lovin' (Grease).

We fell in love, but it couldn't last!
Larry Lovage, nightmare from my past!
That girl down there, was all over me!
I fell in love with his penis poetry!
She was straight, now she turned gay, oh, oh Lesbian Nights,
oh well oh well oh well oh HUH! Tell me more, tell me more!
Are these pretzels fat-free?
Tell me more, tell me more!
You are what you eat! Meeeeow!
("shoo bop bop")
We hooked up at the li-bra-ry!
Met him once, now I'm in therapy!
Went to her room, she begged me to stay!
We made love, now I am gay!
College life turned her into a dyke, ohhh, oh, Lesbian Nights,
oh well oh well oh well oh HUH! Tell me more, tell me more!
Doesn't Liza look great?
Tell me more, tell me more!
Is this dishwasher-safe?
("Shoo-bop-bop, shoo-bop-bop, shoo-bop-bop, shoo-bop-bop, shoo-bop-bop, shoo-bop-bop, shoo-bop-bop-hey!")
Things got hot, she put her tongue in my ear!
We played Quarters, he made me buy the beer!
I wore a thong, she wore lingerie!
July fourteenth is Bastille Day!
She was straight, now she turned gay, ohhh, oh, those Lesbian Nights! Tell me more, tell me more!
Where did you get those shoes!
Tell me more, tell me more!
Hope Paramount doesn't sue!
Removed her sweater. Her boobies are fake...
I was drunk, made an awful mistake...
We made love, 'til the break of daaawn!
Three minutes, never seemed so damn loooooong!
He wore tight jeans, with a tube sock in the seam!
But, ohhh...
Those lesbian... NIIIIIIIIHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTS!!! Tell me more! Tell me moooooooooorrreeee!!!!

(Leisure Suit Larry)
